晚游六桥侍月记

"Evening Stroll at the Six Bridges Watching the Moon"

西湖蓝天白日，望之，清然可爱；

The West Lake, with its blue sky and bright sun, is indeed beautiful to behold;

映世间阳春，佇而不烦；

Reflecting the joys of the world, it stands calmly without disturbance;

夫何如？

What a sight it is!

而吾又何如？

But how about me?

吾昨侍于五月之宵，轻装，淡妆，扶其凭；

Last night I waited at the May night, lightly dressed, lightly adorned, leaning against the railing;

昔年东篱桃与樱，今年湖岸杨与柳；

In the past, peach and cherry blossoms by the eastern hedge, this year willow and poplar by the lakeside;

独歇流光里，欣然忘归；

Alone in the flowing light, I happily forgot to return;

噫！

Alas!

侧额凭栏长叹，时瞩前水，时游芳凋：

Leaning on the railing, I sigh for a long time, at times gazing at the rippling water, at times wandering in the fragrance of withering flowers:

处处不得性；

Everywhere finding no solace;

人人都与我别；

Everyone leaves me;

望我痴作，回首悲叹，君亦自破镜；

They think I'm foolish, looking back in sorrow, you also have a broken mirror;

但可怜兮天之妪，未暇同吾害；

But alas, the lady of the heavens has no time to harm me;

留纶无久期，恨言不在肺；

Leaving the net without a long period, regretting that the words are not in my heart;

矧兮世之色，欲休陈迹，风色不中骚；

The color of the world, wanting to rest the traces, the color of the wind is not in the middle of the sao;

且！

Moreover!

六桥夜景，月上西楼；

Night scene of the Six Bridges, the moon rises over the West Tower;

天外清光，与君共愁；

The clear light outside the sky, shared sorrow with you;

吾自离去！

I leave on my own!

若彼者不见吾，此去而不追；

If he does not see me, I will not follow when I leave;

且欣西楼迟归之际；

Moreover, enjoy the moment of late return to the West Tower;

朝彼是瞩，不能复说；

Looking at him, I can't say it again;

乃至蝉鸣在耳，十指花间；

Even the cicadas are chirping in the ears, fingers among the flowers;

青青行人生世纪，吾将归去！

The green pedestrians live in the century, I will return!
