《孟子》：仁者以不见其利而行，勇者以不见其害而行。

Translation: The benevolent acts without seeking personal gain, the courageous acts without fearing personal harm.

《老子》：为学日益，为道日损。

Translation: The pursuit of knowledge increases day by day, but the pursuit of the Way diminishes day by day.

《庄子》：人之所以能，我之所不能也；我之所以不能，人之所能也。

Translation: What others can do, I cannot; what I cannot do, others can.

《荀子》：饱食终日，无所用心，难矣哉！不有千乘之国，以给一人也，不如薄雨之夜，过江之行舟也。独立不群，行道不远，此虽千万人吾往矣！

Translation: To spend a whole day in full satiety without applying the mind to any purpose is indeed difficult! It is better to have a small boat to cross the river on a rainy night than to be given a kingdom of a thousand chariots. To stand alone without following the crowd, to pursue the Way without going far, even if there were only a few such people, I would still go.

《墨子》：仁者以爱人，智者以利物。

Translation: The benevolent love others, the wise benefit all.

《韩非子》：知人者智，自知者明；胜人者有力，自胜者强。

Translation: He who knows others is wise, he who knows himself is enlightened; he who conquers others has power, he who conquers himself is strong.

《管子》：大丈夫之志，四海之内可知也；形势之利，所以适意而用之耳。

Translation: The aspirations of a great man are known throughout the world; the advantages of circumstances are meant to be used according to one's will.

《孙子》：知彼知己，百战不殆；不知彼而知己，一胜一负；不知彼，不知己，每战必殆。

Translation: If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.

《庄子》：道生一，一生二，二生三，三生万物。

Translation: The Way gives birth to One, One gives birth to Two, Two gives birth to Three, and Three gives birth to all things.

《鬼谷子》：藏器待时，时至则用。

Translation: Store up your abilities and wait for the right opportunity to use them.

《列子》：天地之道，不以恒易，不以毁伤；圣人之道，不以言喻，不以动作。

Translation: The Way of Heaven and Earth does not change, does not harm; the Way of the sage is not explained in words, is not expressed in actions.
