Once upon a time, an old Cherokee told his grandson about a battle that goes on inside people. He said, "My son, the battle is between two wolves inside us all."
"Tell me more, Grandfather," the young boy said.
"The first wolf is the wolf of anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, selfpity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego."
The grandson thought about this for a minute and then asked, "And what about the second wolf, Grandfather?"
"The second wolf is the wolf of joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith."
The grandson paused and looked up at his grandfather, "But which wolf wins, Grandfather?"
The old Cherokee simply replied, "The one you feed."

孙子停顿了一下，抬头看着爷爷，“但是，哪一只狼会赢得胜利，爷爷？”
老切诺基人简单地回答道：“你喂养哪只，就会胜利。”
